Should I buy cosmetic tests online or contact Certified Cosmetics?
If you are familiar with cosmetic manufacturing and know what you need than you can buy online to gain time for yourself. However if you have any questions or are unsure we suggest getting in touch our colleagues to inform you.
Which tests should i have done for my products?
The essential tests for all cosmetic products are microbiological test, challenge test, stability and packaging compatibility test. Products that meet the criteria specified in ISO 29621:2017 Cosmetics — Microbiology — Guidelines are defined as low-risk products and do not require microbiological and challenge tests.

These tests need to be redone in case of a formulation, manufacturing or packaging modification even if you are not starting from the beginning.
There are also tests to prove some claims such as dermatologically tested, SPF value, vegan, anti-wrinkle etc. To substantiate these claims, you’ll need efficacy test results in the PIF.
How long does it take for a product to be in market?
First and the most time consuming step would be stability testing. Depending on the protocol test usually takes 100-130 days. It is possible to begin other tests after a while stability testing start in order to reduce 42 days of challenge and 10 days of microbiology test. When every laboratory step is done safety assesment report can be prepared in 30 days assuming each document is provided completely by the manufacturer.
When should I send laboratory my products?
Obligatory tests (stability, challenge and microbiology) begin every monday, which means your product should be in our office by Thursday to deliver.
What should I share for CPSR?
You need to fill in our request form which includes:
company/personal information
product information (product name, category, form, packaging)
product formula
chemical, physical and microbiological specification of the finished product
stability and packaging compatibility test
preservative efficacy (challenge) test (if applies)
product artwork and label information.
Then attach raw material specifications, MSDSs, and a simple manufacturing process scheme and your process starts for CPSR

What happens if I have product varieties?
Product variety protocol is applied when a product serial has minor differences such as perfuming agents or colorants. In this case stability, challenge and microbiology protocols are still applied separately but CPSR documents would have small changes, so we try to charge a small amount of regular price as a principle.
How do you protect our personal, company and formulation information?
When you place an order we will prepare your project environment. Here you will find a signed Non Disclosure agreement, which binds us legally to keep your information a secret. All information which is being exchanged will remain a secret indefinite. All your information is in your project environment which is only accessable by you and is password protected.
How will I get my results?
Your results will be uploaded in your file when they are done. Printed reports can be delivered in 7-10 days.
Where is our laboratory?
We are working with several laboratories around Europe and use only the highest quality.
Can I demand your services from where I live?
As long as you can deliver your products in our office we can give you the laboratory services you demanded.
Should I have efficacy tests done?
Efficacy tests are done to prove the claim you have written on your product information. If you say your product is dermatologically tested, you would need a report from an accreditted laboratory. Opinions from friends who tried the product is not valid for authorities.
The good news is you won’t have to pay the sum of several efficacy tests for a single product, we can merge some of the protocols to reduce the cost like antiwrinkle, linghtening, moisturizing and pore minimizing efficasies for a single product won’t be the simple sum of those efficacy protocols. The biggest cost for these kind of tests are finding and insuring the right volunteer subjects, when we can apply merged tests price would be reduced. Please get in touch with us to see your options.
What if my results come unsuitable?
When any obligatory test result is unsuitable, it is impossible to release the product in market. You can see what the unsuitable part is on your report, and always ask for consultancy to get reformative action from us.
