Givaudan,a global leader in fragrances based in Switzerland,recently confirmed an investment of CHF 55 million to establish Campus 52 in Grasse,France. This new center aims to advance natural fragrance ingredients by placing a strong emphasis on scientific research, sustainable agronomy, and modern perfumery. Construction of Campus 52 falls under Givaudan’s 2030 growth agenda, which focuses on long-term, responsible expansion and fragrance innovation tuned to consumer tastes. The project integrates with the House of Naturals cluster, designed to push boundaries in the exploration, formulation, and manufacture of world-class natural fragrance components for the next generation of perfumers.
Campus 52: A New era for Natural Fragrance
Positioned as a “center of excellence,” Campus 52 will concentrate on four main pillars: advanced agronomy, breakthrough innovation, precision operations, and masterful perfumery. At its core, the site will feature a top-tier production facility paired with a dedicated innovation laboratory. This collaborative environment invites researchers and industry partners to drive new developments in fragrance. Campus 52 will be supported by Givaudan’s natural sourcing initiatives, blending the latest technology with efficient processes to deliver high-quality ingredients sourced with care for the environment and community.
Givaudan Leadership on the Vision
Xavier Renard,global head of Fine Fragrance,affirmed that the campus will serve as a hub for the creation and scaled production of unique,premium natural ingredients. CEO Gilles Andrier highlighted that the CHF 55 million funding fully supports the company’s 2030 strategy which centers on sustainability and consumer-driven fragrance innovation. He stressed that establishing Campus 52 in Grasse signals a meaningful connection to the company’s origins, celebrating the centuries-long heritage and artistry that define the region.
Expansion in Context: Givaudan’s Recent Investments
The new grasse facility is part of a recent wave of international growth for Givaudan. In the past month, the company committed US$110 million to build a new fragrance manufacturing hub in Mexico and unveiled plans for a creative center in Indonesia. According to the 2025 financial report,the Givaudan Fragrance & Beauty segment posted 7.9 % like-for-like growth,helping to boost total company sales by 5.1 %. The selection of Grasse as the site for Campus 52 not only honors Givaudan’s past roots in France but also leverages the area’s deep association with perfumery to further strengthen Givaudan’s leadership in natural fragrance innovation worldwide.
