Deze classificatie is gebaseerd op het beoogde gebruik om het uiterlijk te verbeteren, vergelijkbaar met traditionele make-up of lichaamskunst. Als gevolg hiervan zijn deze producten onder Verordening (EG) nr. 1223\/2009 onderworpen aan dezelfde veiligheids- en wettelijke vereisten als andere cosmetica.   <\/p>\n<h2>Regelgeving: Waarom zijn afwasbare tatoeages cosmetica?<\/h2>\n<p>De definitie van een cosmetisch product volgens de EU-wetgeving omvat stoffen of mengsels die bedoeld zijn om in contact te worden gebracht met de uitwendige delen van het menselijk lichaam, zoals de huid, met als doel deze te reinigen, te parfumeren, van uiterlijk te veranderen, te beschermen of in goede staat te houden. Afwasbare tatoeages voldoen aan het criterium &#8220;het uiterlijk veranderen&#8221;, omdat hun primaire rol is om tijdelijk de zichtbare kenmerken van de huid te veranderen. In tegenstelling tot medische producten of hulpmiddelen dringen ze niet door in de huid en bieden ze geen therapeutische voordelen.
