Challenge test onderzoekt de werkzaamheid van de conserveringsmiddelen en bepaalt of je product beschermd wordt door de conserveringsmiddelen die je gebruikt tegen microbiologische besmetting en aantasting waaraan het product wordt blootgesteld voordat de originele verpakking wordt geopend en tijdens het gebruik door de eindgebruiker. <\/p>\n<h2>Standaarden en testmethoden<\/h2>\n<p>De werkzaamheidstest van het conserveringsmiddel is gebaseerd op een kunstmatige verontreiniging die onder laboratoriumomstandigheden op monsters wordt aangebracht en de numerieke gegevens die met betrekking tot deze verontreiniging worden verkregen.<\/p>\n<p>Het resultaat van de test wordt bepaald door het logaritmische aantal micro-organismen in het kunstmatig besmette product te evalueren met bepaalde tijdsintervallen (zoals de 2e, 7e, 14e en 28e dag).<\/p>\n<p><strong>ISO 11930<\/strong>: ISO 11930 biedt gestandaardiseerde richtlijnen voor het evalueren van de effectiviteit van conserveringsmiddelen in cosmetische producten. Deze methode is cruciaal voor het testen van conserveringssystemen door producten te enten met 5 specifieke microbenstammen (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, Candida albicans, Aspergillus brasiliense) en hun groei in de loop van de tijd te volgen. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de producten microbiologisch veilig blijven gedurende hun hele houdbaarheid.  <\/p>\n<p>Het proces wordt gestart door het product te enten met de volgende micro-organismen;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC\u00ae9027<\/li>\n<li>Staphylococcus aureus ATCC\u00ae6538<\/li>\n<li>Escherichia coli ATCC\u00ae8739<\/li>\n<li>Candida albicans ATCC\u00ae10231<\/li>\n<li>Aspergillus brasiliensis (A. niger) ATCC\u00ae16404<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>onder laboratoriumomstandigheden en met een aantal micro-organismen die geschikt zijn voor referentiemethoden.<\/p>\n<h2>Wanneer is een uitdagingstest nodig?<\/h2>\n<p>De challenge test wordt gebruikt om de bescherming van een cosmetische formule tegen microbi\u00eble verontreiniging te evalueren. De test is van toepassing op alle cosmetische producten, tenzij ze voldoen aan de vrijstellingscriteria.
